BattleGrid Rulebook
Version 1.0.0 · Every rule the engine applies is documented here.
Escrow
- Every paid match locks the entry fee from each participant's deposit balance into escrow before it becomes LIVE.
- Escrow can only exit via one of three paths: release to winner(s) per the pinned Prize Profile, refund to the participant, or admin cancellation with audit note.
- Escrow moves are recorded in the immutable wallet ledger; balances are always derived, never edited.
No-shows
- A participant who does not confirm join within the timer marked in Config → Timers is auto-marked no-show.
- No-show penalty (default 25% of entry fee) is deducted; remainder is refunded.
- Reputation loss: -20 points per no-show, capped at 3 per rolling 7 days before auto-throttle.
Refunds
- Full refund: admin cancellation, opponent no-show that voids the match, or platform-side failure.
- Partial refund: late self-cancel — cancellation fee per Config → Fees.
- Refunds always credit the same source that funded the escrow (deposit vs winning).
Disputes
- Any participant may open a dispute within the result-submit window with evidence.
- Matches with an open dispute enter UNDER_REVIEW; escrow stays locked.
- Ops / Mod admin decides: approve original, override result, or void with refund. All logged.
Scoring & Tie-breaks
- Battle Royale: points from the pinned Scoring Profile — placement points + kill points (× weight).
- Arena / TDM: team round wins; tie-break on total frags then head-to-head.
- Tie-break order per Rule Profile: wwcds → placement points → kill points → last placement.
- Prize Profile pinned at match creation is authoritative even if later edited.
Tournaments
- Registration closes at cutoff; late joins denied even with balance.
- Check-in window per Config → Timers; missing check-in drops the team and refunds escrow.
- Bracket generated automatically after check-in closes; seeds derive from reputation and season rank.
